This small, agricultural community is home to some of the best potato growers in Maine. Primarily serving as a bedroom community to the Van Buren area, Cyr Plantation is a rural town along US Route 1 and the first place you'll drive into when coming from the south.

Among the features are country walking and hiking tours, a cross-country ski trail and the historical one-room Governor Brann schoolhouse. The small red building on Route 1 has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Inside the building, the school looks much like it did when it was used to educate the students of Cyr Plantation
